Built in 1926 for the Elks Club, the original 110 Livingston Street building is an outstanding example of the later work of the New York architectural firm of McKim, Mead & White. After its sale in 1940, the building served as the headquarters of the New York City Board of Education until it was redeveloped into a residential condominium.
