About
196 Sixth Avenue / Avenue of the Americas is a boutique co-op in SoHo. The building was designed in 1893 by the official architect of the NYPD Sgt. Deeves to serve as the 10th Precinct Police Station. 196 Sixth Avenues original address was 24-26 MacDougal Street, prior to the expansion of Sixth Avenue downtown. It sits behind a small plaza park, named after Father Richard Fagan. The building was converted into a co-op in 1984. There is laundry in the basement.
